Photos from the Sporting News CONLON COLLECTION of Charles Martin Conlin's photographic portraits of the men of baseball from 1905 through 1935, which first opened at The National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution. Originally published in 1985, this book is authored by Lowell Reidenbaugh of The Sporting News and is very much a product of his rich baseball knowledge. Nearly 55 pages filled with nearly 70 classic images by one of baseball's best photographers ever: Charles Conlon. Unfortunately, no photos of Joe Jackson appear in the book, but you'll see some of Conlon's other iconic images of Ty Cobb, Dizzy Dean, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Mel Ott, Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker, Honus Wagner, and many more.

The perfect gift for anyone trying to learn about baseball history, or anyone trying to remember the all-time greats.

The copy you will receive is from the 1988 publishing of the book by The Sporting News Publishing Company, not a modern re-issue. As such, some copies are in better shape than others, but all are in good/very good condition.
